Steamboat Springs, CO | active | 1 to 2 hours

The Howler Alpine Slide runs down the grassy face of Howelsen Hill at 645 Howelsen Parkway, across the Yampa from downtown Steamboat Springs. Riders board a single-lane sled at the top and control their own speed on a 2,400-foot track that winds through bends and straights to the base. Proceeds benefit the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club. Opening weekend runs May 23 to 25, with daily operation starting May 30 through summer; closed in winter.
