Wild West Balloon Adventures has flown the Yampa Valley since 1998 and is run today by owners Bud and Stacia Whitehead. Morning flights launch just after sunrise and drift over ranch land, aspen groves, and the Steamboat Springs ski mountain, landing roughly an hour later for a celebratory toast. The full experience runs about three hours door-to-door, with meet-up, flight, landing, and return transport. Flights are weather-dependent and run spring through fall. Reserve at least a few days ahead in summer, and dress in layers for the cool morning air.
