Operating on Buffalo Pass since 1983, Steamboat Powdercats runs snowcat ski tours across 10,000 acres of Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest terrain, including some of the deepest annual snowpack in Colorado. Three snowcats sort guests by ability, so first-time powder skiers and experts ride at their own pace. Full-day tours include shuttle, beacon, skis or snowboard, lunch, drinks, and ten to fourteen runs of Champagne Powder. Human-powered backcountry tours and AIARE avalanche courses are also available. Twenty-five minutes from downtown Steamboat.
