The Steamboat Springs Pro Rodeo Series runs at the Brent Romick Rodeo Arena on 5th Street and Howelsen Parkway, just across the Yampa from downtown. The PRCA-sanctioned event has been a Friday and Saturday night fixture in summer since 1989 and was named PRCA Small Outdoor Rodeo of the Year in 2002. Gates open at 5:30 pm with a pre-rodeo BBQ and live music at 6 pm, and the rodeo starts at 7:30 pm. Kids can sign up for the Calf Scramble (ages 6 to 12) and the Ram Scramble (under 5).
