Colorado's High Lonesome Outfitter & Guides

High Lonesome runs horseback rides and backcountry hunts out of a working ranch along Highway 131 in Toponas, just south of Steamboat Springs. Half-day rides cover about two hours in the saddle through sage and aspen; full-day trips push deeper into the Flat Tops and include a trail lunch. Hunting guests hold the outfitter's tags for elk, deer, bear, and mountain lion across leased and public land. Summer riding runs Memorial Day through the end of August; hunting seasons follow the Colorado Parks and Wildlife calendar.
