When snow stacks up on Mount Hood's quiet north side, Cooper Spur becomes the valley's family hill — affordable, friendly and never crowded. Ski and sled the morning away, thaw out over cherry-smoked barbecue at Apple Valley BBQ, then meet antique planes that still fly at WAAAM. Add a vintage train ride toward the mountain, bouldering inside a restored 1912 church and a narrated cruise through the Gorge, and cap the nights with arcade pizza, fire-pit patios and downtown taproom pies.
