Cooper Spur Mountain Resort & Ski Area

A small, family-first snow area on the wooded north face of Mt. Hood, where roughly 80 percent of the terrain is beginner and intermediate. Ten runs off a single chairlift, two lift-served tubing lanes, plus cross-country and snowshoe trails from the Nordic Center make it an easy place to learn. The operation traces back to a 1940s warming hut and a vision of affordable skiing kept alive ever since. Off the slopes, log cabins and the rustic Crooked Tree Tavern & Grill round out a low-key mountain getaway near Hood River.
