1344 Boardwalk, Ocean City, NJ 08226

Overview

Ike's Famous Crabcakes has held 1344 Boardwalk, near the 14th Street fishing pier, since 1990. Founder Ike Cassoboon sold his mother's crabcakes from a festival stand in 1980; brothers Frank and Alec Palmieri have run it since 2012 on the same recipes. All of it is hand-breaded and made to order: crabcake sandwiches and dinners, crab balls, fish and chips, jumbo shrimp, fish tacos, two homemade chowders, butterfly chips and sauces mixed fresh daily, plus kids meals in a beach bucket. It is a casual, no-reservations counter for a boardwalk lunch, sunset dinner or takeout, and crabcakes ship nationwide once the boards close for the season.
