Susan Adair's cookies were always the first to vanish from family sweet tables, so in July 2006 she opened Crazy Susan's at 1345 West Avenue, a little yellow storefront on the bayside of town. Everything is baked to order and wrapped individually, and the list runs past 40 flavors: the Crazy Turtle, chocolate chip dipped in dark, milk or white, Pumpkindoodle, Peanut Butter Fluff, Oatmeal Cherry Coconut, the Mayor's Cookie and a rotating Cookie of the Month. Tins of 8 to 36 ship UPS, gluten-free versions come by phone, and the cookies also fill Johnny B Goode's ice cream sandwiches. Hours are not posted, so call before you drive over.
