Hood River Fruit Loop
Self-guided orchard and farmstand drive
Hood River, OR | active | 2 to 4 hours

Eight miles west of Hood River, this shaded riverside park sits where a railroad station once stood, tucked between I-84 and the Columbia. The day-use area opens onto easy river access and some of the Gorge's most reliable windsurfing breezes, plus a quiet creekside picnic spot. It also anchors a universally accessible 5.6-mile stretch of the Historic Columbia River Highway State Trail, climbing west through thick fir forest to river views and Starvation Creek Falls. Expect to hear train horns day and night, a working reminder of the park's rail-town roots.
