Hood River Fruit Loop

A self-guided 35-mile route loops through the Hood River Valley, linking more than 30 farmstands, u-pick orchards, flower fields, wineries, cideries, and breweries beneath Mt. Hood and Mt. Adams. Organized in 1992, it celebrates a valley first planted in the 1850s that now grows over 16,000 acres of pears, apples, and cherries. Wander country roads at your own pace, harvest fruit straight from the branch, sip local terroir, and stock the cooler with just-picked produce. Spring blossoms and autumn harvest are the showstopper seasons. Pull off only at open stands and overlooks, since these are working farms. Bring a map and an empty trunk.
