Hood River Fruit Loop
Self-guided orchard and farmstand drive
Hood River, OR | leisure | 1 to 2 hours

In a region known as the wind capital of the world, this nonprofit glider club hands you a bird's-eye view of the Hood River Valley and Columbia River Gorge from a two-passenger sailplane. Experienced pilots ride thermals that lift eagles and surf the Mt. Hood wave, tailoring each flight to what you want to see. Pick a 20-minute Discovery hop, a longer Valley Tour, an hour-long Epic Soar, or an aerobatic adventure with rolls and loops. Snow-capped peaks, orchards, and vineyards unfurl below in near silence. Proceeds fund a youth program training the next generation of pilots, so your flight gives back.
