Packer Orchards

Stop along the Hood River Fruit Loop at a fifth-generation farm working more than 100 acres between Mt. Hood and Mt. Adams. Pick seasonal fruit in the orchard, pet and feed the baby goats, and spread out for a picnic with the peaks framing the valley. The family bakes fresh daily, leaning on orchard-sweet pears to cut or replace sugar in pies, cookies, and jams. Come fall, the pumpkin patch takes over. With plenty of parking, a shaded picnic area, and a farm stand stocked with homemade goods, it rewards both quick stops and slow afternoons in the country.
