On a half-acre of Columbia River waterfront near the mouth of Herman Creek, a wind-protected cove makes an easy launch for paddlers of every level. A 1.5-mile loop of crystal-clear water, plentiful fish and shoreline wildlife stays sheltered from the Gorge's famous gusts. Grab a single or double kayak by the hour, or join the 2.5-hour guided tour that paddles up gentle Herman Creek, out along the Columbia and into hidden coves and beaches reachable only by boat, with a snack stop and a short shuttle back. Herons, osprey and otters are regular company.
