The Grasshopper Mexican Restaurant & Bar

The Grasshopper at 7253 South Tamiami Trail has been serving authentic Mexican and Tex-Mex family recipes since 1971, building a multi-decade following on homemade nachos, handcrafted burritos, tamales, chalupas, and chimichangas made from scratch the same way they were when the restaurant opened. Dine-in or carry-out, outdoor patio, and a full bar with margaritas and Mexican beers complete the picture. Happy hour runs daily 2–6pm. Sunday hours are abbreviated — 3:30pm to 8:30pm — while weekdays run from 11am. A neighborhood classic that has outlasted generations of trend-driven competition by simply being consistently great.
