Eagle Crest, OR | active | 2 to 8 hours

Fifteen miles of the dammed Crooked River stretch through high desert canyon country 16 miles south of Prineville, where the Ochoco foothills meet the water. Anglers pull rainbow trout, largemouth and smallmouth bass, catfish, and crappie from the reservoir year-round, while summer brings boaters, paddlers, and swimmers to the roped-off beach at the main day-use area. The year-round campground offers full-hookup sites, tent sites, and five deluxe log cabins, and the park earned certification as Oregon's first International Dark Sky Park in 2021, with regular night sky programs. Book campsites early for summer weekends.
