Smith Rock Climbing School

The original guide service at Smith Rock State Park has been putting climbers on the park's welded tuff since 1983. AMGA-trained guides lead private, family, and half-day outings plus classic route days on Monkey Face, the Marsupials, and Cougar Crags, while clinics cover everything from a first day on real rock to anchor building, trad, multi-pitch efficiency, and climber self rescue. Alpine programs reach Mount Washington and Three Fingered Jack. No experience is needed, and kids as young as six can rope up on a family climb; spring and fall are the prime seasons, so reserve dates early.
