The Deschutes Historical Museum occupies the 1914 Reid School building in downtown Bend, one of the oldest surviving structures in Central Oregon. Exhibits trace the region's transformation from open rangeland to a recreational mecca, covering Indigenous history, the timber industry, homesteading, and the development of modern Bend. Rotating exhibits complement permanent collections of photographs, artifacts, and documents from Deschutes County's past. Admission is free for visitors under 17 and discounted for seniors.
