Abode at Frenchmans

Some homes in Ketchum look the part. This one feels it. Abode at Frenchmans sits midway between River Run and Warm Springs lifts on Baldy, wrapped in the kind of warm, rustic character that only comes from real craftsmanship like custom woodwork, stone floors, and details that earn a second look around every corner. Two king ensuites, a queen, and a four-twin bunk room sleep 8 across two levels, while the private sauna and hot tub out back makes sure your recovery is as good as the skiing.

Push open the custom plank door and discover an entry that gives you the first hint of what this home is about, with stone floors, heavy plank doors, and a staircase with the kind of craftsmanship you stop to notice. Upstairs, the living room gathers the group naturally around a wood-burning fireplace, with the kitchen and dining area close at hand for easy meals and even easier conversation.

Downstairs, the three lower level bedrooms each have their own personality, anchored by a king ensuite that opens directly onto the back deck providing easy access to the private hot tub and sauna. The queen room is a quiet, comfortable retreat with a full bath just across the hall. The bunk room rounds out the lower level with four custom twin bunks, leather armchairs, and a TV, the kind of room that makes kids claim their spot the moment they walk in.

The back deck is where the day ends, with a private sauna and hot tub that make après feel like a well-earned reward. Ketchum's Main Street is close enough to walk for dinner, a drink, or a slow morning coffee before the lifts open. Head the other direction and you are five minutes from river access on the Big Wood, where barbless catch and release fishing is as good a reason as any to spend a morning outside. The free Mountain Rides bus connects the home to both Warm Springs and River Run lodges, making car-free ski days entirely possible.
