Yampa River Icehouse

On Yampa Street along the banks of the river in downtown Steamboat, the Icehouse turns out Texas-style, low-and-slow barbecue over real wood. The menu runs brisket, baby back ribs, pulled pork, smoked chicken, smokehouse wings, and frito pie, with shareable sides like mac and cheese, beans, and hand-cut fries. A rooftop bar looks out to Howelsen Hill, and the patio over the water is prime real estate in summer. Happy hour runs daily 2:30 to 5:30, and reservations open at 4pm each afternoon.
