Ice Castles is a seasonal winter attraction built from millions of pounds of hand-harvested ice at the Outlets at Silverthorne, about one hour from Vail. Skilled iceticians — ice artists — spend weeks building towering castles, frozen tunnels, ice slides, fountains, and archways, all woven with LED lighting that glows after dark in shifting colors. All visits are timed-entry, allowing guests to explore at their own pace once inside. The 2025-2026 season opened December 19, 2025, and typically runs through early March. Plan for an evening or late-afternoon visit to experience the full LED light display. Reserve tickets online well in advance.
