Today the museum operates from that same building on North Ridge Street, with interactive displays on Carter's conservation work, a hands-on taxidermy workbench, a children's room, and a small theater. His specimens went on to become the founding collection of the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. Plan 30 to 90 minutes for a self-guided or docent-led visit.
