Breckenridge Golf Club is the only municipal 27-hole Jack Nicklaus signature course in the world, set at 9,300-plus feet north of downtown at 200 Clubhouse Drive. The Bear nine opened in 1985 on old Buffalo Flats, the Beaver followed in 1987 along its signature ponds, and the Elk was added in 2001 with the most elevation change and the best Ten-Mile Range views. Panoramic snowcapped Rockies back every hole, and wildlife sightings of beaver, deer, elk, moose and the occasional bear are common. Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary certified.
