The Anna Maria Island Historical Society Museum occupies a building constructed in 1920 as an icehouse, later used as an automotive garage, sea turtle hatchery, and public administration building before the city began leasing it to the Society in 1992. Exhibits trace the island's early history, pioneer settlers, and cultural heritage, including the adjoining Belle Haven Cottage and the island's original City Jail, both preserved on the property. Free admission; donations welcomed. Hours vary by season, with shorter morning-only hours April through December. Closed all of September.
