Sarett Nature Center is a private non-profit nature center and wildlife sanctuary located in Benton Harbor, Michigan along the Paw Paw River floodplain, providing environmental education to our community. We have over eight miles of trails running along the Paw Paw river bluffs, through diverse forests, in a restored prairie, on boardwalks through wetlands, and to observation platforms in the floodplains. During the months of May - September, our Butterfly House is open. Visitors can imerse themselves in a special netted building housing hundreds of butterflies of various species.

Butterfly House

Inside the Butterfly House, there is a packed gravel pathway for guests to move around and enjoy the many different species of butterflies. It also includes a pond with fish, beautiful flowers, and a window chamber where guests can view chrysalises and watch them emerge into butterflies! Runs from Memorial Day to Labor Day every year.
