After years of working in the property management industry, Chalet Sturgeon wanted to turn her passion for wine into a new career. Through working at different wineries in Berrien County, traveling to vineyards around the Great Lakes State, and researching the best Michigan spirits, she dreamed of opening an exciting, new kind of tasting room with good friend, Jayme Neumann. Jayme's years of winery experience coupled with her keen consumer insight made for the ideal sidekick. Together the pair imagined a place for guests to experience many different Michigan-made wines, beers, ciders, and craft cocktails under one roof. In 2021, Local Pour found a home in the beautiful community of Sawyer, Michigan in the heart of Harbor Country. Today, Local Pour gives everyone “a seat at the table” to taste, learn, and laugh while celebrating Michigan’s spirited bounty.
